PREAMBLE
For transparency, VIDOLÉ BOOKS undertakes to inform users of www.leslivres-vidole.com of each of the processing operations that concern them. We only collect and use data that is adequate, relevant and limited to what is necessary for the purposes for which they are processed (principle of minimization — article 5 of the GDPR).
This Privacy Policy applies to any person using the site www.leslivres-vidole.com and is intended to inform you about the way in which VIDOLÉ BOOKS collects, uses and protects your personal data. It should be read together with our Cookie Policy, available on the site.

2. DATA COLLECTED AND STORAGE DURATION
In accordance with the principle of minimization, we only collect the data strictly necessary for the performance of our services. Here are the details of the categories of data processed and their retention periods:
Connection data.We collect the date, time, protocol and IP address of the user's computer when connecting to the site. This data is kept for 3 years from the last login, then anonymized.
User account data.When creating or modifying an account, we collect the name, first name, pseudonym, date of birth, gender, telephone number, email address as well as geolocation data (country, municipality). This data is kept for 18 months from the last login to the site, then anonymized.
Order data.When placing an order, we collect the delivery postal address, the content of the order (book personalization) and the purchase history. This data is kept for 5 years from the order, in accordance with applicable commercial regulations.
Payment data.Payment data is processed directly and securely by our certified payment provider. VIDOLÉ BOOKS does not keep any payment details of its customers.
Complaint data and after-sales service.Email exchanges as well as the nature and processing of complaints are kept for 3 years from the closure of the complaint.
Cookies and trackers.Browsing data, preferences and audience statistics collected via cookies (including PostHog and Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager) are kept for the periods detailed in section 7 below and in our Cookie Policy.
3. PURPOSES AND LEGAL BASIS OF PROCESSING
All processing implemented by VIDOLÉ BOOKS is based on one of the legal bases provided for in Article 6 of the GDPR. Here are the details of the purposes pursued and their legal basis:
Site management and maintenance:processing based on the legitimate interest of the data controller.
Access to the site and creation of personalized books:processing based on the execution of the contract (Terms and Conditions) and on the pre-contractual measures taken at your request.
Order management, tracking and commercial relations:processing based on the execution of the contract (Terms and Conditions).
Complaints management and after-sales service:processing based on the performance of the contract and the legitimate interest of the data controller.
Management of the rights of data subjects:processing based on the legal and regulatory obligations to which VIDOLÉ BOOKS is subject.
Performance analysis, audience measurement and service improvement:processing based on your prior consent, collected via the cookies banner for PostHog and Google Analytics tools.
Sending commercial communications:processing based on the prior consent of the data subject, which may be withdrawn at any time.
Marketing cookies:processing based on your prior consent. To date, no advertising marketing partners are activated in production. This policy will be updated before any new tools are activated.
Fraud prevention:processing based on the legitimate interest of the data controller and applicable legal obligations.
4. YOUR RIGHTS RELATING TO YOUR PERSONAL DATA
In accordance with articles 15 to 22 of the GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:

You can obtain the communication of your data in an understandable format as well as information on the processing which concerns them.
Right of rectification (art. 16)
You can correct data about you that is inaccurate or incomplete.
Right to erasure / right to be forgotten (art. 17)
You can request the erasure of your personal data in the cases provided for by law (in particular when the data is no longer necessary, or in the event of withdrawal of consent).
Right to portability (art. 20)
Where processing is based on your consent or the performance of a contract, you can receive your data in a structured, commonly used and machine-readable format and transmit it to another data controller.
Right to object (art. 21)
You can object to the use of your personal data for reasons linked to your particular situation, in particular for processing based on legitimate interest.
Right to restriction of processing (art. 18)
You can request the temporary suspension of the processing of your data in certain cases provided for by the GDPR (contested data, unlawful processing, data you need for the establishment of a legal claim, etc.).
How to exercise your rights?

We undertake to respond to you within a maximum of one (1) month from receipt of your request. This deadline may be extended by two additional months in the event of complex or numerous requests, with prior notification.
Right to complain to the CNIL
If you consider that the processing of your personal data does not comply with applicable regulations, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority in France:

5. RECIPIENTS OF DATA
VIDOLÉ BOOKS does not transfer or sell your personal data to third parties.
Your data may be communicated to our subcontractors and service providers strictly within the framework of the provision of our services, in particular:
- Our book printing and manufacturing service provider;
- Our delivery and transport partners;
- Our secure payment provider (which processes payment data directly and securely);
- Our host (OVH);
- Our audience measurement tools (PostHog, Google Analytics via Google Tag Manager), only with your consent.
These service providers are subject to contractual confidentiality and security obligations in accordance with the GDPR. They only act on our instructions and only use your data for the purposes for which they have been commissioned.
The website's partners may also be required to collect data for which they are themselves responsible for processing.
6. DATA TRANSFERS OUTSIDE THE EUROPEAN UNION
As part of our services (hosting, analysis tools such as PostHog and Google Analytics), certain data may be transferred outside the European Union. VIDOLÉ BOOKS uses, when available, configurations compatible with European data processing, in particular for PostHog. In this case, we ensure that these transfers comply with the GDPR, in particular by:
- The signing of standard contractual clauses (CCT) approved by the European Commission;
- The use of certified service providers or those having adopted binding corporate rules (BCR);
- Any other appropriate guarantee referred to in Article 46 of the GDPR.
7. COOKIES AND TRACKERS
Our site uses cookies and trackers in accordance with the recommendations of the CNIL (deliberation of September 17, 2020 and amending guidelines of July 4, 2019). This section constitutes a summary; for complete details, consult our Cookie Policy available on the site.
7.1 What is a cookie?
A cookie is a small text file placed on the user's terminal when visiting a website. It allows the site to remember information about your visit. In this policy, the term cookies also refers to similar technologies, such as local browser storage when used by certain measurement tools.

8. PROTECTION OF MINORS
Our books are aimed at a children, but the data we process only concerns adults ordering. VIDOLÉ BOOKS does not knowingly collect personal data relating to minors under the age of 15 directly. If we learn that a minor has transmitted data to us without parental consent, we will delete it as soon as possible.
9. DATA SECURITY
VIDOLÉ BOOKS implements appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data against loss, accidental destruction, alteration or unauthorized disclosure, in accordance with Article 32 of the GDPR.
Online payments are secured by our PCI-DSS certified payment provider. VIDOLÉ BOOKS does not keep any payment data of its customers.
10. UPDATED PRIVACY POLICY
This Privacy Policy may be updated at any time to reflect legal or regulatory changes, or changes in VIDOLÉ BOOKS practices. In the event of a significant modification (including the addition of new tools or advertising partners), we may ask you to renew your consent choices. The update date is indicated in the header of the document. We invite you to consult it regularly.
